Hi everyone, I am new to Stitch Chat and I have a question.

I just bought a Janome 300E Embroidery Machine and am still learning it.  I want to monogram initials on an iphone pouch that I am making and was wondering how to do this.  I am going to practice first tomorrow on a bigger piece of material, but the actual pouch is half the size of the smaller hoop.  I was wondering if I should embroider the initials first on the piece of material I have, then cut the iphone pattern, or can I just use the hoop with the smaller piece of material.  Thanks for your help.  I just love this machine.

You could hoop a sticky stabilizer with the area for the fabric cut larger than the pattern piece and after successful embrodery cut the shaped piece out.

Thank you Barbara, I have done that and it looks great.  I appreciate your comment.

I would do the lettering on a larger piece and them cut the pattern so you can see exactly where it will be.
