futura 400

  • We are having a problem with our futura 400 starting a design...big or small...then spazzing out and going off pattern altho the computer screen thinks all is fine. We tried a different computer thinking it was a buffering problem but it still spazzed.

June mug rug swap

I wanted to show off a little the 'summer' mug rug and peacock feather-tip earrings I made for a swap I'm in.  But I can't figure out how to upload a photo.  The 'attachment' (paperclip) button only adds a link :{

Wicked Tip: Embroidery On Leather

1.  Hoop a piece of cut-away on top and then carefully cut a 'window' for embroidery - this is to eliminate hoop marks.

2.  Some people favor a sharp needle while other prefer sharp or wedge needles (WEDGE NEEDLE: needle manufacturers tell advise that this needle point    type is recommended only for sewing leather - not for embroidery) ; and some like Teflon. Teflon helps prevent…

  1. Hoop the garment, as you would for regular embroidery. Use the correct backing for the type of garment being sewed on.

  2. Next cut a piece of embroidery foam large enough to cover the design you are sewing. The foam color you use should be as close to the color of the thread you will be stitching over it as possible.

  3. Use tape to secure the foam over the…

Shawn's email

I don't remember ever seeing or signing up for this website but now that I have seen it, I will put it on my radar list to check in once in a while for ideas.

I am here

I had forgotten about this part of Shawn's world.  I think everyday life took over and then a month overseas and now setting back into a normal routine.

I hope everyone is embroidering up a storm, I know I have been.   Have the Golden Tapestry hanging on the wall, completed a cutting mat carrying bag and am now making some 3d embroidery cushion covers.  not bad since the 25th June.

Hi everyone, I am new to Stitch Chat and I have a question.

I just bought a Janome 300E Embroidery Machine and am still learning it.  I want to monogram initials on an iphone pouch that I am making and was wondering how to do this.  I am going to practice first tomorrow on a bigger piece of material, but the actual pouch is half the size of the smaller hoop.  I was wondering if I should embroider the initials first on the piece of material I have, then cut the iphone pattern, or can I just use the hoop with the smaller piece of material.  Thanks for…

embroidery threads saved to make lace

I was wondering if anyone has saved all the embroidery threads and made lace from them?  I read somewhere that it could be done, so I've saved all the threads and I wanted to try this, but I can't find out where it was suggested to go back and get the information how to do it.

looking for a design

Hi I'm Debbie.

A couple of years ago I bought a design set...but lost the file and am not sure from what website I purchased it.

Looking for any help at all.

The one design that I am in need of was of an outline (done in black thread) of Jesus with a little boy just the head side and back view. The little boy was touching Jesus' cheeck with his hand and the caption was "Jesus Loves the Little Children" I am looking to do free newborn blankets for a womens crisis center…
