Hi Regina, Looks like we are neighbors.I live in Warner Robins, Ga and my daughter lives in Lawrenceville. We are up there all the time. Infact returning my granddaughter to Lawrenceville on Friday. Cangratulatios on your new machine. I have a Brother 750D. Purchased it originally last year to do church linens and have gone crazy ever since. My granddaughter has had a ball helping me with some projects during her visit. I posted pictures of our results.
Well everyone will tell you that their machine is the best and they just love them. I am guilty of the same thing. I have a Brother Quattro 6000D. It depends on a lot of things. Such as, do you have a dealer that you really like and can trust? Does that dealer offer you classes, other than the ones to learn your machine? Can you repeat the classes to learn to use your machine without having to pay additional cost? Does that dealer have an on site repair person that you can get to know and that you can trust to give you the correct answers to your questions? Also, how long has that business been in business? Will the dealer let you come in and test drive the machine your self? Another good point what format does the machine use? I know that my machine uses pes, which is according to all my checking around is one of the most popular format. Another thing to consider besure to buy the machine that you can afford or maybe even stretch your budget a little bit. By buying a little bigger machine at first you will not be sorry that you did not get a larger hoop size. I know that my father would always say buy the top of the line. That way you will not want to upgrade anytime soon.
If you have more than one dealer in your town or your area, besure to check them all out to see what they offer.
Every machine has it good points as well as it bad ones. Everyone loves the machine they have or they would not have them. You might also want to check out some of the machine groups on Yahoo anc join the ones of the machines you are thinking about buying. That way you can read what owners of the machines you are interest in have to say about their machines. Also if you join the group/s, you can ask questions such as why did you buy the machine, what they like about it, and other questions that you might think of.
I hope this has help you.
I love my Quattro 6000 and would recommend it to anyone. It is very user friendly, and has so many features that it is very hard write them all down with out taking up many pages on the group here.
If you need any help just contact me on my page and I will try and help you as much as I can.
Welcome to Stitch Chat, you've come to the right place for help and advice.
You asked for opinions, so here is mine.
I have a Singer Futura CE350 and I love it.
The Singer Futura is very much cheaper than most embroidery machines because the computer is not in the machine, but you have to have a separate computer attached by USB cord. I use my laptop.
For me that is not a problem, in fact I love the fact that I can see my designs at the full 14" of my laptop screen!
I have worked on Husquavarna machines and I struggle to see where I'm going on that tiny LCD!
The other nice thing about the Futura is that it can use most of the other machine formats in addition to it's own format.
You don't need a 'card' and you can just download any design from the internet, email, etc. and it is immediately available to use. Perfect for www.DesignsBySiCK.com designs!
No harm in checking out the features.
