Hello Sandra, I haven't finished my 50 state quilt. I have been busy at my job and have not had much time to play with my toys. I got some free patterns from sewforum.com

What a wonderful find! I, however, would not have the patience to hand sew it together. I will keep an eye out for the finished photos.

Hand made quilt finding

A few weeks ago, in a weekend swap meet near my home, I found, a box containing 28 blocks of a hand made quilt, plus extra fabric, thread, needles, patterns and everything that was needed to finish the quilt. It was on sale for 3 bucks. The guy who was selling it, had not idea what it was. I think he though it was just a bunch of worthless pieces of fabric. I bought it and now I'm joining the blocks by hand. Inside the box there was also a strip of one inch pieces sewed three in a row, I think…See More

50 State Quilt

I would love to swap blocks to make a 50 state quilt. I have all the birds, outlines, maps and flowers for the 50 states and I could make by myself the quilt, but I think it will be more meaningful if I get to swap blocks with other quilters. Anyone out there willing to participate? I live in California, but I can make a block of any of the 50 states.
Guidelines:
blocks will be 8 1/2 by 8 1/2 in white on white cotton and will have:
=the name of the state with the flower and/or
=bird and/or
=state map filled or rw and/or
=any other symbol that represents the state

Blocks can be embroidered or appliqued by sewing machine or by hand.

Anyone out there willing to participate? I'l post in the next few days a California Block. Thanks.
