A place for embroidery people to meet

So this is what we accomplished at my first quilt class today.
The design is called Log Cabin.
Next week is lesson 2 when we have the outside border to add and the batting.

Thanks for the compliments Phyllis, the class was 3 hours today and we started from scratch. Jean is a very patient teacher. She started right from showing us how to straighten up the fabric, cutting the strips and how to sew each piece using a quarter inch seam going only in a clockwise direction. The next 3 hour class is next Thursday at 10am. I can't believe I have to wait a whole week before my next 'fix'!

I’m guessing u are a great student and have a good teacher. Looks great to have that much done in one day. Did you already have your material already cut or torn in blocks and ready to go when you got to class or did you do them there? How long was your class?

Thank you Christine, I'm rather glad all the panels ended up the same size!
