I'm also a metro customer, and have purchased from radiant threads on ebay also... I've not used at lot of my sulky any more.. but do like them.. I use them for the more open designs, as mine are 30wt instead of 40wt.
I'm very impressed with the metro thread, and their prices are a bonus!
good luck with what you decide to buy Robin..

Robin I have a few small spools of sulky that I bought on clearance before I bought my first machine and I don't like the performance at all. I also had some coats and clark which is the only one available to me locally and it is SO DULL!!! and 5.99 a spoll!!! I swear by the brand that radiant threads sells on ebay and at

I noticed the talk about threads. Since I am new to all this I would be interested in the pros and cons of the threads everyone is using. I have only been using Sulky so far and it gets expensive. I would like to see some comments on this...Thanks

No, Anna, it isn't just you. This site is relatively new to all of us. I buy my thread from and radiant threads. I usually pay less than $1 a spool including shipping and I love it. It shines like no other I have seen. Where are you located??

Is it just me? Every time I come to stitchchat I find a new area to explore and forget how I got there. Everyday is so new and exciting!
Got my order yesterday and had fun organizing all my new threads. I was amazed how quickly it came from dbs as I just placed the order July 30th.

I'll see what I can come up with... what are you wanting to "not hoop"?.. lol
Comment by VelvaDawn on July 31, 2009 at 10:25pm
that would be great I am one of those people that has to read it and see it because sometimes stuff is really hard to hoop lol makes me so darn mad

Sorry sometimes I am slow.... I'm not sure if you can find online instructions on how to do it... I just sorta learned by trial and error... I don't know if this is the "right way" ... but this is how I do it... I choose the type of stabilizer that is suitable for what I am going to embroider on. then I hoop only the stabilizer... I use spray adhesive and spray the hooped stabilizer... then place the item/fabric accordingly.. I hope that helps... if you would like a couple of pictures I'm sure I could come up with a couple for you... to show you how I do mine... Hope that helped!!
Good luck,
