A place for embroidery people to meet

I am just getting back into the embroidery part of sewing and I have never done one or seen it done because of living in Costa Rica (they still use treadle machines here). Can someone explain the steps to doing a design or where I can read how to do it. Thanks

Found some clear instructions with plenty of photos at

I also do a quick search on YouTube so I can SEE it done.

It is the easiest thing to do. 1hoop your background material.
2.the first stitched line to go down is the placement line, your fabric should cover all of the placement line.
3. the next stitched line is the tac down line, this holds the fabric in place so you can trim as close to it as you can without snipping you threads. this proccess go on till all of your design has it pieces on. then the covering stitch ie satin stitch go on. now keep in mind the covering stitch for a area might com inbetween if it will not interfear with another area. so print out your color page and it shouls tell you the order of stitching.. I have a brother 2003d and it showes me the next area to be done so I do not need to print. Hope this helps.
