I started a group for the people who have Brother machines. It is a place where you can ask questions, answer other's people questions and discuss whatever comes to mind. Anyone welcome to join.

I have only been embroidering a year in July also. I bought my machine in March and didn't get the nerve to try the embroidery part of it until July when a friend who has a Janome showed me what stabilizer was..lol.

Hi ladies ,
I got my brother pe 150 about 6 years ago my hubby got it for me cuz dr said carpel tunnel will set in worse if I continue to hand embroider so there ya have it ... I did some things once in a while on it then only for gifts . Well one night I was on the phone with a dear old friend from high school ( Maureen on here ) and she asked me what is that clattering noise in the back .. I told her , got her hooked and in turn she showed me this site ... I love fsl and toilet paper embroidery .. I am loving being a tester for a site and do lots of earrings .... will post newer pictures of them ....I even had to time my own machine!!!! thanks to fixya and Anne ( on here ) it was easy and I was brave to do it but nearest shop is about 100 miles away .... NOT ... Hubby says when we get the house done I can get my dream amchine if he can get his !!! Mine is a brother that does the 6x10 area and his is a quad lol... I get them both then .... Well short story of mine always a mini novel Happy stitching Terri

Does anyone have the Brother PE Design 8? My sweet husband surprised me with some software after he bought me my first embroidery machine. It's the 4D Embroidery software from Viking. I can make it work with my machine, but am sure it would be much easier with the Brother software. Before I go to that expense I would appreciate some input. With my new addition of the Innov-is 2500D I would love be able to take full advantage of it.

hi Anne

I do not have PE 8, but I do have PE5. I tried learning it and found, at least for me, very hard to learn. I do have embird. I have had it for several years, and even though I have not really learned it I have found what I have learned was very easy to learn. The complete Embird package is less expensive than most software that we use in this hobby. I you want to find out more about it go to www.secretsof.com. You can download a free 30 day trial version. It is a great place to buy it and lots of other things also.

Hope this helps.

Thank you so much Maydean. I have heard of Embird but didn't understand what it was. You just saved me a fortune! Hated having to buy such an expensive software after recently purchasing the viking software. Embird does look very impresive. Right now I just want to be able to lessen the density, but know I will want more features. It is amazing what ya don't know when ya don't know! Thanks again.

Hi anna

you are most welcome. I hope you do check out Embird. It is very easy to learn and to use. I will also tell you that the people that work at Secrets of are vfery helpful. I know when I bought Embird from them, I had tons of questions for them. They answered all of my questions and were very helpful in helping me get what I needed.

They are located in New Zealand, so there might be a time delay in answering any questions you might have.

Besure to check their site out. I do not work for them. I am a very happy customers of theirs.

I am very glad that I was able to help you.
